Cool Clothes This Summer

Summer clothing
It is essential to dress appropriately during the summer months to avoid heat-related illnesses. The biggest organ of the human body, the skin should be pampered with good care. The soaring temperature and humidity levels during the summer months increase the amount of sweat the body produces in an attempt to cool off. Clothes made of fabrics that breathe help pull moisture away from your body and allow it to evaporate.

You should choose fabrics that help promote sweat evaporation and cooling by letting more air pass over your body. Give importance to the weight and size of summer clothes. Opt for lightweight, loose fitting clothes. Dark colors absorb heat; light colors make you feel cool. Ultimately, your summer clothes profile should be breathable, lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothes.

Summer clothes fabrics

Always remember sheer lightweight fabrics will provide welcome relief from the soaring temperature. The best fabric for summer clothes is one that soaks sweat and gives you a cool feeling. Lightweight fabrics are thinner, the texture is soft, makes you feel cool and comfortable. Selecting summer clothes fabrics and colors is the first step towards gearing up for summer.

Cotton used since primitive ages, is the preferred fabric for maximizing ventilation to the body. Cotton is a natural fiber with a soft texture capable of absorbing perspiration. Clothes made of cotton are soft and comfortable. Chic, trendy or elegant - cotton is available in variety of designs and patterns all through the summer months. Shop for summer cotton outfits in variety of colors to epitomize stylish elegance and cool flair.

Yet another option during summer would be to wear fabrics made of cotton and polyester blend with a bigger proportion of cotton. Pure cotton summer clothes have to be ironed. The advantage of blended fabric is that the cotton will keep body cool and the polyester doesn't have to be ironed.

Denim is also a popular summer fabric. Made from tightly woven cotton, denim is breathable and sweat-absorbent just like cotton. But, compared to pure cotton, denim is heavier. Hence, go in for lightweight denim for keeping cool.

Linen too 'breathes', hence qualifies as a summer fabric. For thousands of years people living in the hot zones of the earth have preferred 100% linen fabric. Being a lightweight fabric, summer clothes made of good quality linen are soft, can absorb and lose perspiration quickly.

Summer clothes colors

With regard to colors, choose light colors for summer clothes. White is considered a summer season color. Going for white fabrics ensures a relatively high level of ultraviolet radiation protection. White color or any other light color fabric is light, airy and has versatile appeal. White can be matched easily with any other color. So, choose white tops and combine with blue denim jeans, bright skirts or neutral trousers. You can be sure to feel cool and comfortable. Pay attention to the fabric and style.

Plus size summer clothes

The essence of summer clothes is feeling light and comfortable. Tracks, t-shirts, capris, tops, tanks, pant ensembles, lacy skirts, sun dresses, micro minis if you have the legs to flaunt otherwise long flowing dresses should form part of your summer closet. Get creative. Experiment with patterns. With a bit of ingenuity, you can turn a simple summer dress into a dressy outfit. Appropriate accessories, heeled sandals, hint of makeup - and you can turn a flowery slip dress into an evening outfit.

Cozy shorts are fashionably acceptable during the hot summer months. Depending on your physique, fat or slim and the comfort level, select super short, modest Bermudas to long crops. A few tank tops in a variety of colors and patterns can be mixed and matched with other tops, under shirts, jackets and other dresses. Short-sleeves, sleeveless or spaghetti strap shirts or tops in floral or stripes and a variety of new patterns offer wide selection options.

Chic capri pants, cargo capri pants can lend a casual and fresh look during this summer. Select the length with due consideration to your legs. Capri pants that fall anywhere from right above the knee to mid-calf to just above the ankle are in vogue.

Tips For A Glowing Skin This Summer

Summers are back with a bang...and so are countless summer skin woes! From skin ailments including sun tan, sun burn and dehydration to serious versions like blemishes, pimples and pigmentation – summers are notorious for ruining our skin. But you don't have to fret!
Take a heart and beat the heat this summer, maintaining your beauty and keeping your skin soft, supple and well nourished with these home-made summer skin care Tips
*Cover your hair and face with a light colored scarf.

*Use sunscreen : Daily application of sunscreen is very important before stepping out in the sun. It would be best if you could reapply every two hours. Using a sunscreen according to the skin type protects the skin from damage and it also seals in moisture. Cover yourself with long-sleeved shirts, sunglasses to stay protected from the harmful rays of the sun.

*Exfoliate regularly : Pollution, dirt, sweat, etc. increase the amount of dead skin cells which build up on your face and body. Get rid of this with an exfoliating scrub or loofah a few times every week. Use liquid soaps but be gentle or else you could land up with rashes!

*Moisturize your skin : Use light water based moisturizers and sunscreens for both face and body. Stay away from thick oily ones as they will only clog your pores more.

*Use summer makeup : Use liquid foundation for a lighter, mineral-based powder with a minimum SPF of 15. Avoid cream based makeup and apply natural looking glow

*Practice smart hair removal : Do not shave or use a razor often on your skin, as they are drying in nature. Go for moisturizing shaving creams and gels to remove those unwanted hair.

*Keep yourself hydrated : During the hot weather, your body gets dehydrated quickly. Drink plenty of water to keep your body cool and skin hydrated.

*Diet : Prefer nimbu pani/lassi/coconut water to aerated drinks and coffee; eat light, nutritious, non-fatty and low-salt meals.

Cool Diet for summer

Summer is a time of expansion, growth, activity, creativity and abundance of energy. It is also a time when fluid depletion and excessive body heat can be an issue. Juicy, brightly colored fruits and vegetables are especially good food choices in the summer. It is ideal to eat these foods uncooked or lightly steamed.

Summer tends to rob our bodies of moisture, and for this reason, summer foods are rich in water content. Dehydration is implicated in a startling number of health issues and disease. Signs of dehydration include headache, dizziness, irritability and fatigue. Be on the look out for these symptoms and hydrate with water if any of them arise. As a rule, we should drink 8 – 10 glasses of water a day. If you are especially active in the summer or live in a hot climate, you will want to drink as much as 12 – 14 glasses a day.

As much as your body may want it, avoid excessive amounts of ice, ice cream, sorbet and other frozen foods. While they may give you a temporary feeling of relief, they can wreak havoc on your spleen and stomach.
Pamper yourself with curds, buttermilk, sugarcane juice, fruit juices..These juices maintain your body hydration and also skin glow

Because of the external heat of the summer, it is important to eat foods that have cooling properties while avoiding foods that are warming.
Warming foods include most meats, vegetables that are in the red range of the color spectrum, heavy oily foods, and foods that are spicy (pepper, cinnamon, ginger, clove, garlic, chives and leeks to name a few).

Cooling foods clear and reduce heat, expel toxins and increase body fluids. Foods that are sour and salty help to balance the body electrolytes in the summer. Avoid fried foods and large meals. It is best in the summer to eat smaller amounts of food more often than three square meals a day.

Here is a list of cooling foods for the summer.

Hair Care In Summers

We all know that the sun rays in summer cause damage to the skin that can speed up ageing. But it is essential that you protect your hair from the scorching sun rays as well.

Sun damage to the hair can manifest as faded hair color, brittle and dry hair. The UV-rays can cause permanent damage to the outside covering of the hair which is the cuticle and it can penetrate into the center of the hair, which is the cortex and do all sorts of damage. Hence you need to take special care of your hair during this season.

Summer Hair Care Tips

Wear a scarf, hat or cap to protect your hair from the sun but make sure that it's not so tight where it will restrict circulation in your scalp.

If you know you are going to be in the sun for a long time and if you don't want to wear anything on your head, use a leave in conditioner with sunscreen in it before you go out

Limit your use of "hot" items on your hair such as a blow dryers and curling irons.

If you need to use a "hot" item, use a leave in conditioner before using the item on your hair.

Avoid taking hot showers or washing your hair in hot water. Use warm or cool water instead; the heat can dry out and/or damage your hair and skin.

Staying hydrated is important for healthy hair as well as your overall health so make sure that you are taking enough water.

Avoid hair products with formaldehyde or alcohol in it which dry out hair. Try to use natural products that are gentler on your hair.

Try washing your hair less often; shampooing your hair strips the moisture out of your hair

Use a mositurizing shampoo that is gentler than your regular shampoo for the summer.

Before going into the pool/ocean wet your hair; this will decrease the absorption of chlorinated/salt water into your hair.

Use a clarifying shampoo after swimming to wash out the chlorine/salt and any residues that may be in your hair. Chlorine will severely dry out your hair if it is not washed out.

Get your hair trimmed every six to eight weeks. Your hair grows faster in the warmer months and frizzies are more common in the summer months due to the heat and moisture.

Hair products that have the word "Replenish" on it is made to moisturize your hair.

Knotting your hair, braiding it or wearing it up or in a bun will help contain frizzies.

Putting conditioner on the frizzy areas of your hair and sleeping with your hair up or with plastic around your hair will help remoisturize the dry areas of your hair.

Once you have your hair moist, lock in the moisture by running your hair through cold water; this will also give your hair an extra shine.

How they saved their marriage

Ana married Jim this day. At the end of the wedding party, Ana's mother gave her a newly opened bank saving passbook with Rs.1000 deposit amount.
Mother: "Ana, take this passbook. Keep it as a record of your marriage life. When there's something happy and memorable happened in your new life, put some money in. Write down what it's about next to the line. The more memorable the event is, the more money you can put in. I've done the first one for you today. Do the others with Jim. When you look back after years, you can know how much happiness you've had."

Ana shared this with Jim when getting home. They both thought about it. it was a great idea and were anxious to know when the second deposit can be made.
This was what they did after certain time:
- 7 Feb..... Rs.100, first birthday celebration for Jim after marriage

- 1 Mar..... Rs.300, salary raise for Ana

- 20 Mar.... Rs..200, vacation trip to Bali

- 15 Apr..... Rs.2000, Ana got pregnant

- 1 Jun........ Rs.1000, Jim got promoted and so on......

However, after years, they started fighting and arguing for trivial things. They didn't talk much.. They regretted that they had married each other.... no more love...Kind of typical nowadays, huh?

One day Ana talked to her Mother: 'Mom, we can't stand it anymore. We agree to divorce. I can't imagine how I decided to marry this guy!!!'
Mother: 'Sure, girl, that's no big deal. Just do whatever you want if you really can't stand it. But before that, do one thing first. Remember the saving passbook I gave you on your wedding day? Take out all money and
spend it first. You shouldn't keep any record of such a poor marriage.'

Ana thought it was true. So she went to the bank, waiting at the queue and planning to cancel the account.
While she was waiting, she took a look at the passbook record. She looked, and looked, and looked. Then the memory of all the previous joy and happiness just came up her mind. Her eyes were then filled with tears..She left and went home.

When she was home, she handed the passbook to Jim, asked him to spend the money before getting divorce.
The next day, Jim gave the passbook back to Ana. She found a new deposit of Rs.5000. And a line next to the record: 'This is the day I notice how much I've loved you thru out all these years. How much happiness you've brought me.'

They hugged and cried, putting the passbook back to the safe.

Do you know how much money they had saved when they retired? I did not ask?.I believe the money did not matter any more..They had enjoyed every moment of their life together.

De stress

Smiling is infectious, you can catch it like a flu.
When someone smiled at me today,i started smiling too.
I passed around the corner and somebody saw me grin.
When he smiled i realised i had passed it on to him.

I thought about the smile and then i realised its worth.
A simple smile like mine could travel around the earth.
So if you feel a smile begin, dont let it undetected.
Lets start an epidemic quick and get the world infected.

Happiness is a mind game!
1) Think of someone or something that you really wish to have in your life.
2) Now see yourself spending time with that person or enjoying the thing that you wanted.
3) Remain in that state of joy and happiness as if you have achieved what you desire.

And soon you will realise that you have attracted it in your life.

"If you can see the Invisible, You will achieve the Impossible".

Everything in this universe happens twice, first in your mind and then in reality..

Love Story

The woods are lovely dark and deep,
But i have promises to keep.
And miles to go before i sleep
And miles to go before i sleep....Robert Frost

These are the lines i remembered when i was seperated from my husband during a trek for more than a day..I kept walking without food and water...I could not stop thinking about him..All night i kept calling him...I knew he would be doing the same..

And when i met him in the morning, all i could do was hug him again and again and cry.."I cant live without you John..I wont live without you John".

If you love someone, Hold on to him tightly ..The world wont stand by you in your tough times..Your Beloved would!

Dont Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill.
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.

When stress is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns.
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far.

So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.
